Hello and Happy New Year!
Thank you for electing me president of your Bay Area AEP Board of Directors. I'm excited to be in this new role and continue to serve on the board. You may recognize me from my previous positions: Vice President of Programs for the South Bay – I brought you presentations highlighting the High Speed Rail project, hydrologic fracturing (fracking), climate change adaptation, and water recycling; and Membership Director, which was a great opportunity to grow our chapter by bringing in the best and brightest of the environmental planning industry.
I'd like to give a shout-out to departing board members: Liston Witherill, Rosie McGoldrick, Christine Bradley, Gabriella Vozza, and Travis Bradley. Thank you for your hard work and dedication last year, and good luck in your future endeavors.
The 2015 Board of Directors is a strong, dedicated group including five Vice Presidents of Programs, who last year brought you programs highlighting SB 743, the South Bay Salt Ponds project, CEQA and transportation planning, CEQA/NEPA workshops, and many networking happy hours. Special thanks to Peter Masson, our Director, who continues to push the board to produce creative, fun and timely events for our membership. Also big thanks to Eric DeNardo – Secretary, Linda Hunter – Treasurer, Alex Hunt - communications, Josh Smith – student outreach, Amanda Monchamp and Nisha Chauhan-Been – legislative reps, Stephanie Tavares-Buhler – student scholarships, and Sara Farrell and Wendy Lao – student reps.
Our first board meeting is on January 20. We will be mapping out the educational/professional development plan for 2015. Please get in touch with me if you have requests for programs or learning events.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank you for your continued participation in our organization. We are looking forward to bringing you the best and most relevant information and educational opportunities in 2015.
